Project Overview
Azure Electrical was appointed to provide a new power supply for a swimming pool plant area at St Alban & St Stephen Catholic Primary School in St Albans. Following an initial site visit, our team identified that the existing fuse board was outdated and not capable of safely supporting the increased electrical demand required for the new swimming pool equipment.
Mains and Fuse Board Upgrade
To support the new load requirements, Azure Electrical carried out a mains and fuse board upgrade, replacing the existing setup with a modern distribution solution aligned with current regulations. The upgrade helped improve safety, capacity and reliability, ensuring the school had the correct electrical infrastructure in place before the swimming pool plant equipment was connected.
External Power Distribution Installation
The works included the installation of a new Hager distribution board within an external IP rated enclosure, providing protected power distribution for the swimming pool plant area. The team also installed a local Type 2 Surge Protection Device, a 32A Commando socket outlet, a 63A interlocked Commando socket for safe connection and isolation, and an IP rated weatherproof socket outlet. All equipment was mounted onto galvanised support framework to provide a durable and suitable external installation.
Project Outcome
The completed works provided the school with a safe, compliant and reliable power supply for the new swimming pool plant area. By upgrading the fuse board, improving distribution capacity and installing weatherproof external equipment, Azure Electrical delivered a robust electrical solution capable of supporting the additional demand while improving long term safety and performance.
